Deaf-Toned?

     So as many of you know, the Deftones have a new record coming out called Diamond Eyes May 18 on Reprise Records.  Most of you that know this are also super stoked to hear new material from the hard rock/metal genre innovators.  The title track from that record has surfaced and you can check it out here. 
     I'll admit that I have Adrenaline, Around the Fur, and White Pony.  I'll also admit that White Pony is the only one I listen to more than a couple times a year.  Having heard everything they've released to date (including the B-Sides & Rarities album), I still do not see the big attraction to this band.  Chino is the only vocalist I know that people dig his "inhale and exhale into the mic" approach.  I think everything the band has released post-White Pony has gotten progressively worse.
     These guys have honed their sound and to that I give them credit but they just don't do anything for me.  They also happen to be one of the dullest bands I've ever had the misfortune of witnessing.  Maybe they hit the bong a little too hard that evening because I've heard they can put on a decent show.  Is there something I'm missing here?  Please enlighten me why people care about the Deftones.
